Twitter seems to be making the news as of late. I've never quite understood the desire to microblog, primarily because I find my quotidian routine to be largely unexceptional - and perhaps only of interest to my field journal, whom I call "K." But in response to a friend who said that he didn't know anything about me other than the fact that I'm here to do research, I've decided to give the tweeting a one-time, experimental go. Mind you, there's nothing noble about these tweet-ments...it's merely a way to divulge a little more of the mundane - and fill in the blanks around the usual research status updates.

Starting in on editing work. Digressions abound, however, and I find myself watching music videos on YouTube to make up for a lost adolescence without MTV. Best of the bunch: my favorite Korean indie group, Dear Cloud and their single, "Ice Fortress" and Regina Spektor's "Us."

Checking e-mail...find out that one of my papers has been translated into Korean for inclusion in a Korean music journal. A feeling of surprise, followed by pity for the poor soul who had to do the translation.

Meeting Aimee Lee for dinner and much-needed gab time. As usual, I'm having a great time being entertained by Aimee's stories. We're also treating ourselves to the best and healthiest shabu-shabu this side of the Han River.

Stopping by Ewha Womans University's new ginormous Campus Complex to kill some time before my dinner appointment.

Spending the morning re-adjusting my schedule for the next week, and also re-configuring all of my research binders. Sheet protectors galore, and OCD at work. Forget to eat a proper meal and scarf down two pieces of toast before heading out for the day.
